Echoes of Aincrad is a single-player action JRPG set in the Sword Art Online universe, developed by Game Studio Inc. and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. You create a custom avatar — a series first — and survive the floating castle of Aincrad alongside partners like Iori, Argo, and familiar faces from the anime.
Combat is real-time with no magic: you manage Stamina for attacks and dodges, SP for up to three equipped Sword Skills, and partner Support and Combination Skills through Switch Mode and Free Mode. Progress through main quests, raise your Cardinal Rank, upgrade gear at the smithy, and stack up to four EX-MODs per weapon.
A playable demo remains available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, with save data transferable to the full game via Patch 1.0.3. The retail release covers Floors 1 and 2 with 14 interface languages. Launched worldwide July 10, 2026 (July 9 on consoles in Japan).
